This holiday has been both easy and difficult for me. New clients are popping up, very last minute before catching their planes to go spend the holidays with family. Balancing meet and greets, obtaining keys, updating client files, scheduling visits and keeping straight each client’s need makes me reflect on my time- and pricing. I’ve always tried to operate with a simple pricing structure but am learning why the pet sitting industry has so many add-on fees. Fees for weekends, holidays, key pickups/drop-offs, medication administration, last minute bookings and cancellations. There is a lot of admin behind the ‘15 minute visit’.

But, I’m writing this blog post while already being halfway done with my workday (well, halfway done with visits for the day, the admin never stops), lounging on the sofa, my toes tucked underneath my dog, and we’re sharing a blanket. It makes the above seem a lot less stressful. I love this industry. I love the pets I get to share life with- aka work.
